Mike Phillips comes to Texas A&M University at Galveston with 20+ years of Fire and Life Safety Experience.  He has worked with paid and volunteer fire departments as well as having served in the US Army where he earned numerous awards and decorations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Those awards include the Presidential Unit Citation, Army Commendation Award, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Combat Action Badge.   In 2014, Mike received his Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Safety and Health Technologies from College of the Mainland.  He currently holds Firefighter Master, Fire Investigator Master, Fire Inspector Master, Master Fire Marshal, Fire and Life Safety Educator 2 and Master Marine Firefighter with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.  He also is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as well as a Mold Assessment Consultant. In addition, he is a certified Emergency Medical Technician Basic through the Texas Department of Health.

Currently, Mike serves as the Director of Campus Services, Operations & EHS at TAMUG.  He has a positive outlook and continually strives for excellence. Mike brings a vast knowledge base and a strong safety ethics to TAMUG.
